Former Brockton Enterprise All-Scholastic to Be Inducted Into Hall of Fame

Sports Training Professional Receives Honor From Silver Lake High School

In 1988, Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston/Pembroke won the MIAA State Championship for boys soccer.  It was Silver Lake’s first athletic state championship.

David Gleason was a member of that historic team.

“I remember it very well” said Gleason.

“It was such a thrill to be part of that team.  To us, it was much more than a State Championship in soccer, it was proof that no matter what the odds, anyone can accomplish anything – we were a Cinderella story”.

The lessons Gleason learned from his experiences on the soccer field back in 1988 are things that he still uses to this day in his work.

Gleason is the owner and Head Coach of the Athletic Revolution Youth Training Center in Pembroke.

He provides fitness, nutrition and lifestyle awareness for non-athletic youngsters, as well as sports performance training for young athletes ranging in ages from 6 – 18 and including all sports.

His role as Head Coach is not much different from his role on the Silver Lake soccer team.

“Fitness and sports training is much more than just exercise, sets and reps” Gleason offered.

“It’s about teaching young athletes the value of hard work, commitment and dedication to a goal.  Young athletes only become great when they combine proper training with the right kind of leadership that shows them how to succeed”

And Gleason knows a little about both those topics.

He will be inducted into the Lakers Hall of Fame for his athletic and leadership abilities on the soccer field as well as with the State Championship Team from 1988.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on January 23, 2010 at Halifax Country Club.  For more information, please contact Bill Johnson, (781) 585-3844.

Gleason combines his passions for fitness and leadership in a training system that local young athletes are currently reaping the benefits of.

Athletic Revolution South Shore is the only youth-based fitness center in the Pembroke area.  For more information on programs, please call Andrea Gleason at (781) 312-7808.
